My work is psychodynamically oriented, meaning that together we explore how the past may be impacting the present. We will unpack unconscious beliefs that are impacting your life and find new ways of moving forward. This work is insight-focused as we take the time to uncover how your lived experiences are affecting current feelings, actions, and thought patterns. Using this foundation I often interweave the following modalities and frameworks:
Internal Family Systems (IFS) - IFS is an approach that recognizes that we each have multiple inner “parts” that exist and interact as a system within us. Taking the time to learn about each part and understand its motivations, fears, and desires can be deeply instrumental in healing.
Narrative Therapy- Narrative Therapy is a modality that assists us in viewing our lives as our collection of stories. This helps to create some distance between problems we may be facing and reconnect with the autonomy to be the authors of our lives.
Imago Relationship Therapy - When working with couples and partnerships, Imago Relationship Therapy is an approach that works to build empathy between partners and create an understanding of how childhood wounds may be playing out in their relationship.
Health at Every Size® (HAES®) & Intuitive Eating - These anti-diet frameworks celebrate body diversity. HAES® and Intuitive Eating principles support reconnection with your body, your hunger, and your desires. When working with individuals wishing to heal their relationship with food & body, I often collaborate care with a dietician referral to help support you in this approach.
